STATEMENT OF CONCERN

LEADERS OF INDONESIAN CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS

ON ISRAELI ATTACKS AND BOMBARDMENTS ON GAZA

___________________________________________________

Having realized the brutality of the attacks and bombardments on Gaza and the Palestinian people which have killed hundreds and wounded thousand of innocents Palestinian people including women and children and destroyed homes, houses of worships, infrastructures and public utility building, we—leaders from various groups of Indonesian civil society organizations---state the followings:

1.     We strongly condemn the brutal and the murderous attacks and bombardments on Gaza and the innocent people of Palestine nation. We believe that as such is a gross violation of human rights and itself is a naked crime against humanity

2.     We believe that the recent developments on Gaza will pave the way to global tensions and conflict which would only hamper our efforts to establish real peace with meaning in the world

3.     We urge the United Nation to take necessary and uneven handed measures by issuing and enforcing a resolution ordering the Israeli government to stop immediately the brutally and bombardments and to apply appropriate sanction. Failure to do so will only make the United Nations as ineffective and meaningless international organization

4.     We encourage all peace and justice loving people and countries to continue their efforts in demanding the United Nations to put pressures on the Israeli government to stop unconditionally their attacks and bombardments on Gaza and the Palestinian people. This is in order to make a peaceful world with meaning in a reality

5.     We urge the international community to embark on humanitarian missions to help the people of Gaza in particular and the Palestinians in general to alleviate their pains and miseries as the result of the brutality of the Israeli government
